![]() Various personas I use to represent myself in my art.
BASICS: Boo is what I like to call my "inner self". If my moods and personality were a visual entity, they'd look like this. Boo is my stylized interpretation of a lynx and has only one form. She's cartoony, mischievous, and usually cute. Key features include her round belly, big paws, stubby tail, ear tufts, and a wavy little mane that goes from the back of her head to the middle of her back. COLORS: She's primarily brown and white in color with black spots and other markings, vaguely similar to a real lynx. Her eyes are a bright green with dark green "centers" to them. Her mane used to be brown but I later changed it to burgundy.ACCESSORIES: She only has three primary accessories –- a gold ring around the base of her tail, a piercing through her left brow, and a native-style bead collar.FUNCTION: Boo doesn't really "talk", but she conveys my feelings pretty clearly in her actions.REFERENCE IMAGES:![]() BASICS: This is probably the oldest incarnation of myself still in use today. I didn't start drawing humans until age 16 -– I always just drew dog-people. I think I was 19 or so before I was exposed to the internet and made aware of the whole furry phenomenon. In any case, my anthro self is still a dog -– I never thought to give her ears until 2003, actually, so if you see them missing from older pics, that's why. She's got my build, she (now) has slightly rounded, half-erect/half-floppy ears, and a thick, fuzzy tail. She's not really any specific breed, just a mutt. Her legs are plantigrade -– meaning she has human-shaped legs and feet and can wear shoes and such. COLORS: Her fur is varying shades of light brown, paler towards her muzzle and undersides. Her eyes are blue and her nose is a rusty-brown color, while her hair, which is essentially my hair, is also brown. It may be dyed according to whatever style I've chosen at the time, which helps to distinguish it from her fur.ACCESSORIES: The only constant ones are A) plain or purple-tinted glasses, and B) a bellybutton piercing. The rest is fairly flexible. I tend to dress her in clothes that I actually own.FUNCTION: I mostly use my anthro self in images where I'm interacting with other "furries", but sometimes just draw myself as a dog out of habit. She is me in everyday situations.REFERENCE IMAGES:![]() BASICS: Toon Ren is exactly what you'd expect -– a cartoony version of myself. She's somewhat chibi-like, in the sense that she has a big head, small compact body, and no nose... except I don't draw in anime style. COLORS: Just like my own -– Caucasian skin, light brown hair (sometimes dyed other colors), and blue eyes.ACCESSORIES: Like myself, she wears glasses and has a bellybutton piercing. (The glasses can be normal or purple-tinted -– I have both in real life.) I tend to wear things like a watch, rings, and chokers most of the time. Similarly to Anthro Ren, I usually dress her in clothes that I actually own.FUNCTION: Toon Ren is the quickest and easiest way to draw myself. I use her most often for portraying some really exaggerated expression or funny situation that wouldn't work quite as well with my other personas. I also "toonify" many of my friends when drawing little gifts for them.REFERENCE IMAGES:![]() BASICS: When all else fails, draw yourself exactly as you are! "Myself" is simply me, drawn in my usual comic book style. COLORS: Standard Renée -– Caucasian skin, light brown hair (can be dyed), and blue eyes. Glasses can be normal or purple-tinted.ACCESSORIES: Typically my own clothes and other tidbits. Glasses and bellybutton piercing are always present.FUNCTION: Used when I just want to draw myself as myself. Nothing more to it.REFERENCE IMAGES: |
