Crikey! The elusive creature, captured on film!
NICKNAMES: Ren, Renny, Renneh, Renners, Ren-Ren, Rennypookins, Wumfkinator/Wumfky, Contessa, Tiger Lili, Pitoune, and so on. I usually go by Renée in everyday conversation.
AGE: Born in 1980. Do some math!
BASE OF OPERATIONS: Canada.
HOMETOWN CLAIM TO FAME: Tim Horton's nexus of the universe!
OCCUPATION: Artist, writer, full-time dork. Also working part-time as a data entry operator for a courier service while I'm going to school.
EDUCATION: Completed high school in 1998. Spent 5 long years in university getting a bachelor of arts... major in English, minor in philosophy. Which, I've come to realize, counts for very little in the real world. Currently I am in a graphic design program at a community college.
MARITAL STATUS: As of late January 2007, dating this guy. Score!! Been living together since May 2007.
FAMILY: Parents happily married since the dawn of time. Both come from 8-children families, which means I have dozens of aunts and uncles and a small country full of cousins. Thankfully, my parents ceased this cycle of super-spawning and I have no siblings of my own.
PETS: Two cats adopted from the local SPCA -- Mackenzie, a semi-longhair calico, and Moose, a big ol' black shorthair with white socks and other bits. They're silly and hilarious, and total snugglebugs to boot. Mackenzie actually looks a lot like my former cat, Pixie, a longhair calico that I practically grew up with. She lived to the ripe old age of 14 before we tearfully had her euthanized in 2002 due to medical complications. (...Except Mackenzie is cuddly, whereas Pixie was, shall we say, bitey.)
HOBBIES: Writing, reading, drawing, TV, movies, listening to music, playing dominoes, wasting time online, being stupid with my friends, playing with "the kids" (by which I mean the cats), dancing like a goober when no one's looking.
LANGUAGES: Like lots of folks in this region, I'm bilingual. I function predominantly in English, but I was raised French as well and have always attended French schools. Oddly enough, I got my English degree in a French university. I also took a few Spanish and German classes, but not enough to be fluent.

Movies -- Ravenous, Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Boondock Saints, Lucky Number Slevin, The Punisher, the Predator series, the Alien series, 300, The Simpsons Movie, 30 Days of Night, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, Reservoir Dogs, Sin City, the Kill Bill series, I Am Legend, Memento, the Indiana Jones series, Lonesome Dove, the X-Men series, Dangerous Liaisons, Swordfish, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pulp Fiction, Chicago, Run Lola Run, No Country For Old Men, The Descent, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Reign of Fire, Heat, and the Naked Gun series. I also enjoy lots and lots of animated films.Music -- I'm a fan of music in general and listen to everything from disco to metal to classical to rap. However, my preference lies mostly in the heavy/hard rock category. My two absolute favorite bands are Rammstein and Metallica; they can do virtually no wrong in my eyes. Other artists I really enjoy include Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Econoline Crush, Godsmack, Eisbrecher, The Revolting Cocks, KMFDM, Edwin (and I Mother Earth before he left the band), Megaherz, and Rob Zombie.TV Shows -- Past or present -- Oz, The Simpsons, Firefly, The Closer, Lost, The Sopranos, Law & Order SVU, Third Watch, Family Guy, American Dad, Batman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Harvey Birdman, Drawn Together, Friends, Robot Chicken, Malcolm in the Middle, Will & Grace, Frasier, King of the Hill, Futurama, Gargoyles, X-Men Evolution, and animal documentaries. The two channels I have on most often are probably Much More Music and A&E. I am a total A&E whore, I watch Biography, Investigative Reports, City Confidential, American Justice, Cold Case Files, a lot of their movies, and most of their specials. I enjoyed the channel a lot more before it went all Reality-TV on me, though. :/Animals -- I ADORE cats and all things feline, with canines coming in at a close second. If it's soft and pettable, I'll probably like it.Comics -- Books I've enjoyed -- Wildcats Version 3.0, Bloodhound, Sojourn, Danger Girl, Midnight Nation, Battle Chasers, and Wolverine: Weapon X (by Barry Windsor-Smith). I was raised on Franco-Belgian comics rather than North American ones, actually -- so if you read French (or can find the translated versions), I highly recommend stuff like Tintin, Astérix, Lucky Luke, Yakari, Spirou, Boule & Bill... and my personal favorite, Les Tuniques Bleues.Artists -- Dustin Nguyen, Adam Hughes, J. Scott Campbell, Joe Madureira, Greg Land, Travis Charest, Joe Benitez, Greg Capullo, Melissa Miller, and Jaimé Sidor.RANDOM FACTS:

* Ren is blind as a bat without her glasses.
* Ren doesn't smoke, drink, or do drugs. Come to think of it, she doesn't even drink coffee or soda either.

* Ren used to be a dancer and figure skater back when she was young and limber.
* Ren is a name geek and loves to find out their meanings. (Renée is Latin for "reborn".)
